In 1919, Georges Leroy created "La Grande Cidrerie du Calvados", a hygienic brewery-distillery. In 2008, "La Fermière" abandoned the production of calvados. Today, the cidery produces "The Ecusson" range of cider, to which belongs the "Cidre Rosé" made out of delicious red apples.

At the end of the XVIIIth century, brick construction gradually replaced timber framing. At the beginning of the XXth century, the affluence of the cheese producers enable them to construct elegant brick manor houses, such as the Jourdain-Debret cheese factory.

At the end of 1907, the society for affordable accomodation was created under the presidency of Marcel Gambier (1869-1917). The construction of these houses for workers was in part financed by the industrialist Georges Leroy to accomodate his staff.
