Bali (Indonesia)
Bali is one of the most beautiful islands in the world with many religious ceremonies and folklore and cultural festivals. Bali is less than 150 km long and the interior is made up of two volcanic craters - Gunung Agung and Batur. In the south, the landscape is flat, with many seasonal rivers. The local landscape is characterised by beautiful rice paddies, terraced one above the other. The entire coastline of Bali is washed by the Indian Ocean. The beaches are white or grey-black, of volcanic origin. The great attraction for tourists coming to Bali are the Hindu temples, surrounded by water lakes, exotic beaches and beautiful nature. In the north of the island there are several volcanoes and the highest one - Agung (3 031 m) is also the highest peak of Bali.
Due to volcanic activity, the beaches in this part are black sand, while in the south the sand is white. There is a coral reef all around the island and the underwater world around Bali is one of the richest in the world. This makes Bali a paradise for divers and snorkelers. The South Kuta Peninsula is located south of Denpasar International Airport and forms the southernmost part of the island of Bali. The capital of the area - Kuta - is definitely worth a visit. The nightlife, the many shops and stalls where you can buy decorative products, jewellery and fashion accessories and the most sought after and busiest beach with great waves for surfing. Hotel resorts are then located on the east coast at Tanjung Benoa and Nusa Dua beaches.
