Kielce (Poland)
Kielce - the capital of the Świętokrzyskie (Holy Cross) Voivodeship, a city of almost 200,000 inhabitants located in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains with an attractive landscape, an economic, academic, cultural, tourist and sports center. It’s an excellent location between Poland's two capitals - former and current - Cracov and Warsaw, makes it a city with high development potential.
Kielce lies in the historically and naturally unique area of the Świętokrzyski Geopark, which in 2021 was included in the UNESCO World Geoparks Network list. Almost 67% of the city's area is green space, and all protected areas account for more than 62% of the city's area, which puts Kielce among the top cities in Poland. A large part of it is located within the boundaries of the Chęciny-Kielce Landscape Park. Close to Kielce is the Świętokrzyski National Park.
Kielce is competing for the title of European Capital of Culture 2029.
