Krkonoše (Czech Republic)
The highest mountains of the Czech Republic and the Czech Highlands. It lies in northeastern Bohemia (the western part is in the Liberec Region, the eastern part in the Hradec Králové Region) and in the southern part of the Polish part of Silesia (in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship).
The highest mountain in the Krkonoše and the whole Czech Republic is Sněžka (1603 m above sea level).
According to legend, the mountain is guarded by the mythical spirit of Krakonoš.
