Lomec pilgrimage area (Czech Republic)
Lomec is one of the most important Baroque pilgrimage sites in the country, which the locals call Lomeček.
The pearl of the complex is the pilgrimage church of the Name of the Virgin Mary, one of the most important works of the High Baroque in Central Europe. The church was built at the beginning of the 17th century by Count Buquoy for the miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary with the Baby Jesus. The count thus realized the original plan of his father, Charles Philip.
In the grounds we can also see the convent of the Grey Nuns, the bell tower, or visit the meditation garden and the nearby Stations of the Cross.
