Milešovka (Czech Republic)
Milešovka is the highest mountain of the Bohemian Central Highlands and a popular tourist destination. The view from it is considered one of the most beautiful in the Czech Republic.
The peak at 836 metres above sea level exceeds its surroundings by 350 metres and thus offers an ideal circular view. In good weather you can also see Šumava and even the Alps.
The mountain attracts attention with its massive asymmetrical cone, which was raised by tectonic activity.
One of the first mountain restaurants in Bohemia was built on the top of Milešovka at the beginning of the 19th century. There is also a 19-metre high lookout tower and a meteorological station. A freight cableway leads up the northern slope to the summit, which helped in the construction of the meteorological station.
You can start your ascent to Milešovka from several places. The route from Milešov is popular but a bit more challenging. You can also start from Černčice or Bílý Újezd, which are at a higher altitude.
