Murça (Portugal)
Murça is one of the oldest villages in Portugal. Divided between Terra Quente, Terra Fria and Terra de Montanha, with a diversity of unique and different landscapes, between the Douro and the Mountain is also the birthplace of the soldier Hero Milhões, figure of the First World War. The Roman presence left clearly visible marks such as the Bridge and the Via Romana During the reign of D. Manuel I, the Murça Pillory was erected. In the 17th century, fruitful in religious architectural construction, the Misericórdia Chapel was built, one of the most beautiful monuments in the region.
